The End of Time Updates

After the BBC airing of The Waters of Mars, we’re seeing more information about The End of Time. I won’t overly analyze anything but, rather, I’ll just post some press release information as well as a video and let you read into it for yourself.

The End Of Time: Part One
It’s the Tenth Doctor’s final journey – but his psychotic nemesis the Master has been reborn, on Christmas Eve. With both determined to cheat death, the battle ranges from the wastelands of London to the mysterious Immortality Gate, while the alien Ood warn of an even greater danger approaching, as a terrible shadow falls across the entire Universe.

David Tennant stars as the Tenth Doctor and guest stars include John Simm, Bernard Cribbins, Catherine Tate, Timothy Dalton, David Harewood and June Whitfield.
The End Of Time – Part One is written by Russell T Davies and directed by Euros Lyn. The producer is Tracie Simpson.
Doctor Who – The End Of Time: Part One is simulcast on the BBC HD channel – the BBC’s High Definition channel, available through Freesat, Sky and Virgin Media.

And Part 2…

The End Of Time: Part Two
The Doctor faces the end of his life as the Master’s plans hurtle out of control. With the sound of drums growing louder, and an ancient trap closing around the Earth, the Doctor and Wilf must fight alone. But sacrifices must be made, and the deadly prophecy warns: “He will knock four times.”

David Tennant stars as the Tenth Doctor and guest stars include John Simm, Bernard Cribbins, Catherine Tate, Timothy Dalton, David Harewood and June Whitfield.
The End Of Time – Part Two is written by Russell T Davies and directed by Euros Lyn. The producer is Tracie Simpson.
Doctor Who – The End Of Time: Part Two is simulcast on the BBC HD channel – the BBC’s High Definition channel, available through Freesat, Sky and Virgin Media.

And lastly, here’s a little preview of The End of Time, as shown during this year’s Children in Need special.

And if you want to see some still images from this preview, I found a nice set over at David-Tennant.org.

Want to play Star Trek Online? There’s still a chance!

Star Trek Online is looking to be a very fun MMORPG. Being the first Star Trek game of this type, it definitely has quite a following. However, some people are already playing it! (They just have to report bugs, of course).

Are you interested in playing Star Trek Online? Well, if you haven’t already, be sure to sign up for the closed beta! It’s like joining one of those super secret online societies, where you can’t talk to others about it. At least you can be a geek and join this one!

But, we have other news, too! Even if you signed up for closed beta and have not got called, do not fear!  It has been announced that there will be a two week open beta close to Star Trek Online’s launch date of February 2nd, 2010.  So, be sure to check out their website and sign up for beta!

In the meantime, want a sneak peak at some of Star Trek Online’s game play? Check out this video.

Confirmed Star Trek Online Release Date

It has been confirmed from Cryptic, both on their website and from a tweet from a Cryptic staff member, that Star Trek Online will be released on February 2nd, 2010.

So, if you’re interested in playing it, maybe you’ll want to look into pre-ordering the game. Hopefully, by the time the game hits open beta, we’ll know more about the game mechanics and what fun can be expected from it.

New Doctor Who Info: The Water of Mars

Via a post on David Tennant’s Facebook page, we have some new information regarding The Water of Mars! Specifically, we have an air date and a new trailer.

So, for all of you folks fortunate enough to live in the UK:

The Waters Of Mars will air on BBC One / BBC HD on Sunday 15th November at 7pm!

For the rest of us, how about a little trailer? Why not!

I don’t know about you, but I’m excited! What do you think?

Possible Star Trek Online Release Date

The website MMORPG.com has just posted a new article that details a possible release date for Star Trek Online, an exciting new MMORPG coming from Cryptic Studios.

The basis for this guess comes from the fact that Amazon.com has put up a pre-order for Star Trek Online. And guess what? They’ve got a date attached: February 2, 2010.  And given that we already know that the game will be released in Q1 2010, this could possibly be a correct date.

Should we lock in that date for the release? Not necessarily. As no official release date has been given by Cryptic, it’s possible that that date is only a temporary one while Amazon (and the rest of us) waits to hear an official one given from Cryptic.

On a side note, do consider pre-ordering the game. The perks, as listed on Amazon.com, aren’t too bad: access to open beta and a special bridge officer for your character.  Seems like a nice little addition to having the game reserved for you. Oh, and the 6% savings you get for pre-ordering right now, too, is nice.
